Ms. Barrios- Paoli has served as Commissioner of the New York City Department for the Aging (DFTA) since December 2008, following a long career in both City government and the nonprofit sector including appointments as Commissioner at four agencies: the Department of Employment, the Department of Personnel, the Department of Housing Preservation and Development and the Human Resources Administration. Since assuming the reigns of DFTA, she has worked with great imagination and agility to reformulate aging services citywide, fostering new innovative models of service as part of a dynamic partnership with the provider agencies to chart out a collective response to our aging city.
