After retiring as a nurse, I found myself feeling lonely and adrift. My days felt long and quiet, and I wasn’t sure where I belonged anymore. That changed when I joined the Hamilton Older Adult Center.

I started attending activities, joining workshops, and enjoying meals with new friends. Little by little, the center became part of my routine and part of my heart.

When personal issues arose, the social worker and the director were there to help me navigate through them. I wasn’t just another face they truly cared about what I was going through.

Recently, I lost my life partner. During that incredibly difficult time, the director and staff went above and beyond. They supported me emotionally and even helped me arrange a memorial.

Today, I’m back at the center, enjoying activities and always feeling checked on by the compassionate staff. Project FIND has shown me that no one is ever alone when they have a community like this.
