Mary Story

Mary at Project FIND

“When my husband was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, I felt completely alone.”

As Mary devoted herself to caring for her husband, she came to Project FIND and discovered a place that cared for her in return.

When I found out my husband had Alzheimer’s, my world changed overnight. I felt overwhelmed, helpless, and isolated. Every day was consumed with caring for him, and somewhere along the way, I stopped taking care of myself.

I didn’t realize how much I needed support until I came to Project FIND.

Walking into the center felt like stepping into a place where I could finally breathe. Being there has been like therapy a safe space to reset, recharge, and connect with others who understand what it means to carry so much responsibility.

I never thought I would make friends again, but now I’m taking six classes and have built meaningful relationships that brighten my week. My favorite is mosaic creating something beautiful with my hands reminds me that even broken pieces can come together to form something whole.

Because of the activities, I feel stronger mentally and physically. And through Project FIND’s free social services, I’ve been able to access the guidance I needed to navigate this difficult chapter.

Project FIND hasn’t just given me classes. It has given me community, support, and hope when I needed it most.

Thanks to supporters like you, caregivers like me don’t have to face this journey alone.
