
Richard Meador
Assistant Director of Social Services
Richard Meador has spent the last 20 years, in multiple settings, helping homeless and marginally housed New Yorkers improve their situations and move towards greater housing stability and independence. Working in both shelter and supportive housing settings, including Project Find since 2023, he has been involved in many of New York’s efforts to improve housing for individuals who are coping with mental health, substance use, domestic violence and financial challenges. Prior to that, Richard worked for 15 years providing and managing treatment and rehabilitation for New Yorkers coping with mental health and substance use disorders. Richard has a BS in Psychology from Fordham University and a MS Ed in Rehabilitation Counseling from Hofstra University. He has served as an adjunct professor in Rehabilitation Counseling at Hofstra University, CUNY-Hunter College and Columbia University.
