"I've always been interested in art as far back as I can remember. As a child I loved drawing but because I didn't have the guidance I needed, I took the commercial course in high school instead of the art course. I wasn't happy in high school so after 2 years I left school and started working painting commercial items such as hand painted neckties, scarves, boutique items such as handbags, compacts, jewelry. At about the age of 38 I took some evening classes at F.I.T. in textile designing and became a designer till I retired at the age of 70. After my husband passed on I started taking classes at the Art Students League and have been doing it ever since. I have enjoyed doing portraits at the league where there is such a variety of models. I've won some awards along the way too. My main interest is in painting and drawing."
